Shooter Jennings started it
off with a short set. He started off with the title cut to his new album
"Put the O back in Country". Then transitioned into "Solid Country Gold".
His dad's standard "Lonesome, Ornery and Mean" sounded like Waylon was on stage.
He finished off with "Southern Comfort" and "4th of July". He and
the band put on a great set. They signed autographs after. It's been
a long time since I've seen a whole band sign autographs. All of the guys
were really nice and even "chatty". Thanks to them for being so patient.
Lee Ann Womack started while we were in the line
for Shooter Jennings autograph. However, we made it back for "I Hope You
Dance" and "Ashes by Now". I heard that she also sang "He Ought to Know
That by Now", "You've got the wrong Girl", "I'll Think of A Reason Later", and a
Patsy Cline tune.
Toby Keith is a great entertainer and he truely
knows what his fans like. He played to his strengths the whole show.
He started off with the title track from his new album "Honkytonk U". Then
he played "Stays in Mexico", "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight", "I Wanna Talk
About Me", a very island version of "Should`ve Been A Cowboy", "You Ain`t Much
Fun", "As Good as I Once Was", and "I Love This Bar". Toby brought Scotty
Emerick to the stage and they sang the Bus Songs: "The Taliban Song", "She
Didn't Say No" (a new one), and "Weed at Willies". The band returned to
the stage and continued with "Whose Your Daddy", "Beer for My Horses", "How Do
you like Me Now?", "Whiskey Girl" (I may have this one out of order), and "A
Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action". In a typical Toby salute to the
armed forces, the encore was "American Solider" and "Courtesy of the Red, White
and Blue (The Angry American).
This was a very entertaining show from beginning
to end.
